It was a proud day today at the Associate Judge Induction Ceremony and an especially proud day for AABAR as one of its co-founders, the now Honorable Rouhy J. Shalabi, was sworn in. Congratulations!
An evening to remember! Thank you to all who joined us and packed the house to celebrate the judicial appointment of our co-founder, Judge Rouhy J. Shalabi. Judge Shalabi is the first Palestinian American and Muslim Arab American to ascend to the bench in Illinois. We are very proud!

The Chicago Bar Association's All Bar Social was a packed house with close to 300 people in attendance and over 30 organizations represented, including AABAR!
AABAR was proud to co-sponsor the Chicago Bar Association's "Spring into Service" Project preparing and delivering over 200 lunches for the Pacific Garden Mission, the largest homeless shelter in the Chicagoland area.
AABAR along with the Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects (AAAEA), the Arab American Business and Professional Association (ABPA), and the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) come together for the annual All Professionals Networking Event.*

Hon. Haddad will be speaking at NIU Law's 27th Annual Francis X. Riley Lecture on Professionalism. His lecture is entitled, "The Legal Profession's Ideals of Public Service: The Formation and Impact of the Arab American Bar Association of Illinois." Read more here,

Fellow board members Vivian Khalaf and Lana Nassar as well as AABAR member Omar Abuzir garnered national attention for filing a federal lawsuit on behalf of U.S. citizens married to immigrants who were denied stimulus checks. The National Arab American Bar Association (NAABA) hosted an 3azeemeh (social gathering) featuring our very own Past President Donna Haddad along with several other outstanding NAABA members.
